So transform it into a priority to practice regularly. Every day is the most suitable, but it doesn't have to be for a long time. If you can squeeze in 15 or twenty or so minutes every day, you will see a difference quickly. What's that--you say you happen to be too busy? How about drawing if the commercials come on on your favorite television show. You can certainly get twenty or so minutes of practice in if you do that during the commercials of a single one-hour show.
Use size to suggest distance
The closer something is usually to you, the bigger it looks. So if you have two objects around the page and want to generate one look farther away, make it smaller than the opposite one. This works better still if you include a straight line, called a horizon line, going throughout the page. Erase the areas where your two objects cross those lines.
Draw closer objects lower around the page
If you happen to be drawing two trees, then one is closer to you, draw any particular one lower around the page. This will make it appear to be closer to you. Even better, draw it lower around the page and greater than the opposite tree.
Now try adding a horizon line throughout the page, somewhere so it crossed the trees. Erase the queue where it crosses the trees, for the reason that trees are usually in front of the queue. You just did three things to generate your drawing look more three-dimensional and real. That wasn't so faithfully, was it?
The second step is usually to apply these pointers you've learned for your drawings. This can help them look more believable. Even in the event you draw cartoons rather than realistic drawings, using size and foreshortening could make your drawings better still.
